CHEZTER VARGAS
I AM ON MY OWN.
Everyone's online. Nobody's present. The algorithm is designed to destroy your attention span. I'd rather have one real corner of the internet than a thousand followers watching nothing. So here we are.
Hi, I'm Chezter.
I experiment, build
and write stuff.
I'm a Biomedical Engineering grad from Zamboanga City, now based in Wellington, New Zealand. During my internship at Zamboanga City Medical Center I got to do the real thing, keeping clinical equipment running, calibrating machines that people's lives depend on, and even designing 3D printed parts for the department. I left with a lot of inspiring lessons in mind. For my thesis I built eM-Brace from scratch, an autonomous wrist splint for carpal tunnel syndrome, which honestly taught me more about problem solving than anything else in my degree. These days I'm teaching myself Python and web development on the side, and actively looking for roles in biomedical or clinical engineering and healthcare here in New Zealand. If you're here because something on this site caught your eye, I'd love to hear from you.
MY
EDUCATION.
GPA: 3.28 / 4.0 | 4-year programme | English medium of
instruction | PAASCU-accredited
• Thesis: “eM-Brace: Development of an Autonomous Wrist
Splint with an Integrated Massage System for Alleviating
Muscle Weakness Related to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome”
• Officer, Biomedical Engineering Society — Head of
Creatives (2023–2024)
WHERE
I'VE
WORKED.
Maintained and calibrated clinical medical equipment while providing Level 1 technical support across hospital departments. Delivered staff training and product demonstrations, fabricated custom components via 3D printing, and supported departmental administration and documentation workflows.
THINGS I
BUILT.
eM-Brace
Most wrist splints just hold you still. eM-Brace reads your muscles, adapts to your movement, and delivers targeted massage to heal you.
Personal Website
Built from scratch in pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript after stripping out a backend I had vibe-coded but never actually understood.
CH3SH1RE
A locally-run AI assistant I built in Python because my conversations shouldn't live on someone else's server. Plus, I don't have to worry about causing global warming.
THINGS I
WROTE.
LET'S
TALK.
Open to full-time, part-time, casual, and contract roles in Biomedical Engineering, Healthcare & Medical, and Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices. Reach out and let's chat.
